Medicinal uses for willow, balsam poplar buds and usnea lichen – to name a few…

Come learn from Dr. Shannon Budiselic about important medicinal plant species of our Rockies, their growth habits and uses, and how to prepare basic backcountry remedies for use on the trail.

Samples of some home remedies will be available for attendees to examine and try.  Reference handouts will be provided.

Dr. Shannon Budiselic has been studying and practicing herbal veterinary medicine for over 15 years and has been a weekend explorer of plants in the Canadian Rockies for almost as long.  Dr. Budiselic has a post-graduate certification in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a veterinarian, including herbal therapy.

There will also be time to socialize with others who have hiked, maintained or supported the Great Divide Trail.
