Work has resumed on the WBC trail system as the GBCTA has met all the requirements after a provincial work ban was placed on volunteer trail organizations. This was in response to new Safe Workplace legislation that mandated organizations develop Health and Safety programs before being allowed to work on public lands. The GBCTA paired with Friends of Kananaskis for a day of training on June 2 at the Canmore Nordic Centre. Among the topics covered were crew management, roles and responsibilities, Health and Safety Program expectations, hazard assessment and mitigation, and trail building basics.
